Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra is looking for the area's most accomplished young Jazz musicians to participate in the PJOYouth Band, a big-band style performance group, run by Mike Tomaro and James Moore.

 

Accepted students will receive weekly rehearsals and will additionally have the option to participate in:

 

     Combos and improvisation class

     Musicianship class

     Master Classes with guest clinicians

 

Band rehearsals will occur on Sundays at 2pm at the Afro American Music Institute. All accepted students are required to continue participation in district programs.

 

16 week tuition: $100 total

 

The PJOYouth Band will have a student base consisting of:

 

     5 Trumpets

     5 Trombones

     6 Saxophones

     2 Guitars

     2 Basses

     2 Drums

     2 Pianos

     2 Vocals

Students interested in participation in the PJOYouth Band must audition. The first step should be to register for an audition and download the audition materials.
